GHOSTS (Phantasm) - Don Coscarelli (1979)
A couple were secluded in a park of a sudden a woman with a sword stabs the man with whom she was having sex, we are faced with a slasher-movie? Everything changes in one go and we are introduced to the story of Mike, a young boy androgynous incarnation of the thick foliage Mc Guyver who recently lost their parents and that she put all her anxiety about her brother, the last member of his family following him everywhere even in a cemetery where he sees a lanky intent to withdraw as soon as the coffins of the dead buried. The child taken from his energetic puberty, he decides to investigate, and after convincing his brother that the usual small town of desperate provincialotti hiding something terrible (what a surprise) will be dragged into many troubles.
The low-budget film, directed by Don Coscarelli (writer and also author of the first episode of "INCIDENT ON AND OFF A MOUNTAIN ROAD - Panic on the mountain, the first episode of the legendary series Masters of Horror and uninteresting BUBBA HO-TEP) has all the characteristics that a film worth seeing: absurdity, splatter scenes mixed esoteric most vulgar (the grandmother seer looks like the "granny-mummy" from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), beasts, and a desire to recreate the tension of the classic American film tracking to no avail! In most power here
rifarvi eyes watching him in action sucking brain iron balls with blades that will give you quite a few scenes from "colored" (and also in red with yellow!) And the music is really well done: for fans of the genre to the memory of those Fulci can not but be done! (For metalheads: the soundtrack was also used in the Left Hand Path Entombed ndt).
The finish will leave you amazed!!
